Resize an image to Facebook post size for free

About the Facebook Post Size

Images shared on Facebook show best at the 1200 by 630 pixel landscape size, the same frame used for link previews. This tool resizes any photo or graphic to exactly that frame. Fill it edge to edge and drag to choose the visible part, or fit the entire image inside and colour the bars around it.

What you can do

• Produce a 1200×630 image, matching Facebook's landscape post and link-share frame.
• Switch between Fill, which crops to cover the frame, and Fit, which shows the whole image on a background.
• Reposition the image by dragging, with zoom up to 300 percent.
• Choose the Fit background from swatches or a custom colour.

When it works best

• Creating a share image for a blog post or event page so the preview is not cropped awkwardly.
• Posting a portrait photo to a Page in a landscape frame with a branded colour behind it.
• Making ad or announcement graphics at a consistent size.

Things to know

• Your image is resized inside the browser, so nothing is uploaded to WizzyTools or Facebook.
• The 1200×630 frame is wide, so tall photos lose a lot in Fill mode; Fit keeps everything.
• Cover photos and stories use other shapes that this preset does not make. Use Crop Image and Resize Image for those.
• Keep important text away from the edges, since some feeds and devices trim the preview slightly.
