About the Favicon Generator
A modern website needs more than one favicon: a .ico for older browsers, small PNGs for tabs, an Apple touch icon for iPhone home screens and larger icons for Android and installable web apps. This generator builds the full set from a single PNG, JPG or SVG, writes the web manifest and the HTML tags, and packs everything into one zip in your browser.
What you can do
- Generate PNG icons at 16, 32, 48, 180, 192 and 512 pixels, named the way browsers expect, such as apple-touch-icon.png and android-chrome-512x512.png.
- Build a favicon.ico holding the 16, 32 and 48 pixel sizes.
- Choose center crop or padding when the source image is not square.
- Enter an app name and theme colour to fill in site.webmanifest.
- Copy the ready-made <link> tags, and download single files or everything as favicons.zip.
When it works best
- Launching a new website or landing page that needs a complete icon set.
- Replacing an old, blurry favicon after a logo change.
- Making a progressive web app installable with proper home-screen icons.
Things to know
- Your logo is rendered into icons inside the browser and is never uploaded.
- Start from at least 512 by 512 pixels; the tool warns you when the source is smaller, because upscaled icons look soft.
- Detailed logos rarely read well at 16 pixels, so a simplified mark often works better.
- Upload the files to your site root so the paths in the snippet match. If you only need a quick .ico, Image to ICO Favicon is simpler.
