About the Image to ICO Favicon

Sometimes all you need is a single favicon.ico file, for an internal tool, a quick prototype or a platform that asks for one .ico upload. This converter takes any image your browser can open and packs it into an .ico file containing 16, 32 and 48 pixel versions, so browsers can pick the size that suits the tab, bookmark or shortcut.

What you can do

Things to know

• The icon is assembled in your browser, so the image stays on your computer.
• A non-square image is scaled to fit and centred, leaving transparent bars on the short sides. Crop it square first with Crop Image for a full-bleed icon.
• No PNG sizes, Apple touch icon or manifest are produced; Favicon Generator makes the full set.
• Sizes above 48 pixels are not included.
