About the Image Watermark

Photos you post online can be reused without credit. A text watermark puts your name, site or copyright notice on the image itself. This tool writes the text you choose onto a JPG, PNG or WebP image, either once in a corner or the centre, or repeated diagonally across the whole picture, with opacity, size and colour you control.

What you can do

• Type any text, such as "© Studio Name" or a web address.
• Choose a colour from the swatches or the colour picker.
• Set opacity from 5 to 100 percent and size from 2 to 15 percent of the image width.
• Place a single mark bottom right, bottom left, top right, top left or in the centre.
• Turn on "Repeat across the whole image" to tile the text in diagonal rows.

When it works best

• Photographers sending client proofs before the final files are paid for.
• Shops and makers posting product photos on marketplaces and social media.
• Marking scans of documents with "Copy" or "Sample" before sharing them.

Things to know

• The text is drawn on your device in the browser, so the original photo is never uploaded.
• Only text watermarks are supported; there is no option to add a logo image.
• A single corner mark is easy to crop out. The repeating pattern is much harder to remove, at the cost of covering more of the picture.
• Text size follows image width, so check the preview on very tall images. To watermark many images at once, use Image Workflow.
