About the Image Workflow (Multi-step Edit)
Many image jobs need several edits in a row: shrink to 1200 pixels, compress, convert to WebP, add a copyright line. Doing that in four separate tools for twenty files takes a long time. Image Workflow lets you build that sequence once as a list of steps, then runs every image you add through it, in your browser, and gives you the results as a zip.
What you can do
- Add Resize, Crop, Rotate, Compress, Convert and Watermark steps, as many times as you need.
- Reorder steps with the up and down arrows, or remove them; they run from top to bottom.
- Resize by width or height in pixels, leaving the other at 0 to keep the aspect ratio.
- Crop by left, top, width and height as percentages, so the same crop works on images of different sizes.
- Convert to WebP, JPG or PNG and set a quality level for JPG and WebP output.
- Download each result, or all of them as images-edited.zip.
When it works best
- Preparing a batch of photos for a website: resize, convert to WebP, compress.
- Watermarking and downsizing a full shoot before sending previews to a client.
- Applying the same crop and rotation to a set of scans from the same scanner.
Things to know
- Every step runs locally in the browser tab, so even large batches are never uploaded.
- The output format is set by the last Convert step, and the last Compress step sets the quality, wherever they sit in the list.
- Watermarks here are placed once in a corner or the centre. For a repeating watermark, use Image Watermark.
- Rotation and crop are numeric only, with no live preview of each step, so test the chain on one image before running a large batch.
Frequently asked questions
Resize, Crop, Rotate, Compress, Convert and Watermark, as many times as you like, run from top to bottom.
The last Convert step sets the format and the last Compress step sets the quality, wherever they are in the list.
Yes. Crop values are percentages of each image, not pixels.
No, so test the chain on one image before running a big batch.
Not here; it is placed once. Use Image Watermark for a tiled pattern.
